Hot-dip galvanizing

A worker and steel components during hot-dip galvanizing at the Basra plant

Your steel, or steel supplied by us.

Hot-dip galvanizing adds a protective zinc coating to steel. The process includes surface preparation and treatment, zinc immersion, inspection and preparation for delivery.

Choose galvanizing for steel you already own or ask us to supply galvanized steel. Dimensions, weight, surface condition and design are reviewed before the scope is confirmed.

01

Galvanize your steel

You provide the steel components. We galvanize them within the agreed specification and service scope.

02

Supply galvanized steel

We supply steel with galvanizing to the dimensions, quantities and specifications you require.

Details that help define the service

  • Will you provide the steel, or do you need steel supplied with galvanizing?
  • Component types, dimensions, weights and quantities
  • Drawings and venting or drainage details where applicable
  • Project specifications and inspection requirements
UNDERSTAND GALVANIZING

How does zinc protect steel?

Key stages from the company’s galvanizing procedure, from preparing steel to inspecting the coating.

  1. 01

    Prepare components

Review, arrange and prepare the steel for processing.

  2. 02

    Clean the surface

Degrease and remove oxides, then rinse and flux before immersion.

  3. 03

    Immerse in zinc

Immerse steel in molten zinc, then cool and prepare for inspection.

  4. 04

    Inspect and finish

Check appearance, thickness and adhesion, then finish and prepare for delivery.

Based on the company’s galvanizing procedure

QUALITY THROUGH THE PROCESS

Inspecting the coating after galvanizing.

The company procedure describes checks for appearance, thickness, uniformity and adhesion before finishing and preparation for delivery. Inspection requirements are defined by the work specifications.

BEFORE SENDING YOUR STEEL

Prepare a better inquiry.

What information is needed for a quote?

Component type, quantities, dimensions, approximate weight, drawings where available, and required specifications. Send these to sales to discuss the inquiry.

Can every size of component be galvanized?

Suitability depends on dimensions, weight, design and processing capabilities. Send the details to sales to confirm acceptance before transporting steel to the plant.

Why review venting and drainage?

They allow zinc to flow and air and material to leave hollow sections. Details should be agreed with specialists during design review and before fabrication.

Does galvanizing last the same time everywhere?

Protection life depends on coating thickness and the exposure environment. Discuss the appropriate approach for the project rather than assuming one service life for every application.
